Gazzew has graciously blessed Ashkeebs with being the official Canadian vendor for his Boba switches! There has been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to help provide a silent tactile switch to the community that ticks many of the boxes people have wanted: a non-mushy bottom-out, no squeaking from dampening pads, and it actually being silent. He has done a phenomenal job with these switches and I cannot recommend them to tactile and silent switch enthusiasts enough!
The U4 Boba switch is a medium silent tactile switch with a D-bump with no pretravel on the downstroke, a solid bottom-out, and a nice pop on the upstroke. The stroke all the way through is smooth, thanks to the housing material and the unique stem rails only seen in the Boba switches (thus far), and quieter than every other silent tactile switch I’ve used (on a very comparable level to Keebwerk’s Tacits). Gazzew has also gone to the effort of designing a new leaf to not only be linear and tactile friendly, but also to reduce leaf ping. The use of high-quality Korean stainless steel springs helps prevent spring ping as well.
Two top housing variants are available: clear tops with no LED slot, and white tops with an LED slot. Both variants come in 62g and 68g spring weight variants measured at bottom-out.
