Description

SL Cipher, another fantastic set from our friends at Switchlab, is inspired by morse code and radio alphabets predominantly used in the military for voice authentication and various other procedures, and has a fascinating history dating back to the 1840s and even earlier, building upon the discovery of electromagnetism and the creation of electromagnets in the early 1800s. After nearly 20 years, Morse code was refined and an international standard was created that is still used today. While Morse Code is designed primarily to cover the Latin charactesr and a handful of Arabic numerals, Morse alphabets have been created for languages that use more than the standard 26 Latin letters.
Each appropriate key has it’s corresponding Morse code, including modifier keys which are spelled out with each letter being a new line. The alphas in the base kit also include the NATO phonetic alphabet above the Morse code, along with a Morse code-only alphas kit for those who prefer to keep it .–. .-.. .- .. -. / .— .- -. . As with all Switchlabs sets, SL Cipher will also enjoy 1.7mm thickness!
