Description

The third switch in the Ashkeebs line-up, Alexandrite linear switches aim for a smooth stock typing experience and thocky acoustic. Following our previous switch nomenclature, Alexandrite is a stone that appears bluish green in daylight or fluorescent light, and purplish red at night, tying in perfectly with our brand colours!

The UPE stem and HPE top housing combination allow for a nice, smooth keypress, and the Nylon bottom housing gives the switch a solid, thocky bottom-out. These switches are provided with no factory lube for a consistent stock typing experience, however as with lubing most linears, we recommend 205g0 applied to the bottom housing and stem, with GPL 105 or your choice of oil for the springs. This will help to deepen the sound further and guarantee a super smooth keypress.

The good, the bad, and the thocc

    The good,
These sound amazing, period. In terms of sound, the best switch I can compare them to in terms of sound are to the Boba U4Ts. This is coming from someone new to the hobby. They’re also incredibly smooth, so smooth that I was surprised to see that they aren’t factory lubed!
    The bad,
They have quite a bit of stem wobble, It’s not that noticeable on their own, but once you put keycaps on them you can tell. They also have a little spring ping but that can be taken care of with some lube and love.
Overall, fantastic switch, especially for the price. They’re definitely one of my favorites and I think it would be hard to beat this amount of stock thock!
    I rated them a 4/5, but they’re closer to a 4.5/5.

Amazing switches. Super smooth, sounds and feels amazing. As the other reviewer stated, there is quite a bit of stem wobble but it doesn’t make them feel any worse. Lubed them with 205g0 and it’s probably the smoothest, thockiest switches I’ve tried yet. I prefer these over Black Inks or Oil Kings. Overall very pleased with them and they will be in my daily driver for a long time!
